ROLE- Mechanical Design Engineer

My client is a manufacturer of specialist products for the toolmaking sector. They are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team outside Cardiff on a permanent basis.

 

The Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:

• HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ / Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar
• At least 3 years’ experience in a similar Design Engineering / CAD Operation position
• Previous experience in a similar role
• Previous experience with either Injection Moulding, or Press Tool Design is desired, but not necessary.
• Be proficient using 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo etc.
• Knowledge of electrical, injection moulding, metalwork are all desirable, but not a necessity
• Good theoretical mechanical engineering knowledge of core principles and tight tolerances
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
• Proficient using MS Office
• Excellent organisational skills and time management skills
• Have the ability to work well alone as well as part of a small multi-disciplinary team

 

The Mechanical Design Engineer role will involve:

• Using CAD for concept design and producing technical drawings
• Liaising with manufacturing providers
• Being involved in final assembly of products
• Creating the required documentation for design as well as project reports / plans
• Updating 3D models and drawings
• Inputting parts into the MRP system creating BOMs
• Checking drawings for sign off
• Working in a small multi-disciplinary team on varied projects

ROLE - Technical Manager

LOCATION – Sale

SALARY - £45,000 - £55,000 per annum dependant on experience (please advise)

 

My innovative engineering client is looking to take on a Technical Manager, on a permanent basis, in the Sale area.

 

Background:

The Technical Manager role will involve:

• Provide technical advice and support to all departments across business processes.
• Oversee technical management of wax shell and foundry operations.
• Design and procure tooling for production needs.
• Manage and coordinate projects to ensure timely delivery and quality outcomes.
• Oversee the New Product Introduction (NPI) process, including tooling, sample production, and delivery schedules.
• Drive technical development efforts for new products.
• Prepare and deliver Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) reports, as well as weekly and monthly scrap and rework analyses.
• Conduct trend analysis and provide ongoing technical support.

We are looking for a Manufacturing / Production Manager on a permanent basis in the Bristol area within the manufacturing industry. • Experience within Timber or Carpentry – advantageous.

The Production / Manufacturing Manager role will involve:

• Managing the day to day activities of the manufacturing team and addressing any manufacturing issues.
• Managing the continuous improvement projects for the manufacturing lines.
• Managing day to day activities of the production team.
• Coaching the Production team on increasing efficiency.
• Assuring health and safety obligations are met.

Your main duty will be to assist the Quality Management Team in the day-to-day running of the ISO 9001 Quality Management System and other quality engineering responsibilities.

The Quality Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:

• Qualified in Engineering ideally (NVQ / HNC / HND / Degree or similar) OR Qualified by experience in Engineering
• Previous Experience within a electronic manufacturing environment
• Experience of various quality tools (8D, 5 Whys, Lean manufacturing, auditing etc)
• Knowledge of QMS, either ISO9001, ISO 14001 & ISO 45001
• Have excellent communication skills both verbal and written
• Be self-motivated and have a positive attitude
• Good problem-solving skills.
• Any relevant experience leading audits – beneficial but not needed

The Quality Engineer role will involve:

• Ensuring that any failures are reviewed with manufacturing and engineering.
• Ensuring all products meet the required quality standards.
• Being responsible for the 8D, Root Cause Analysis, Lean manufacturing and similar  responsibilities.
• Assist other engineering teams with improving quality.
• Coordinating activities for continuous improvement
• Conducting Internal Quality audits.

JOB –Quality Inspector

LOCATION – Birmingham

TERM- Permanent

SALARY – £32,000 - £35,000 per annum (dependant on experience).

We are looking for a Quality Inspector on a permanent basis in the Birmingham area with experience of mechanical inspection techniques. Your main duties will be assisting with the day-to-day activities of the Quality inspection team using various mechanical inspection tools and techniques.

The Quality Inspector will ideally have the following attributes:

• 2 years’ experience or more in a similar Quality Inspector position.
• Knowledge of Quality Inspection techniques.
• Able to communicate with Quality Engineering teams.
• Have excellent communication skills both verbal and written
• Have previous experience working in a similar mechanical manufacturer.
• Able to read engineering drawings.
• Ability to work independently.

• Assisting the Quality Management team with Inspection and reporting duties.
• Using various gauging and measurement instruments to ensure products are manufactured correctly.
• Maintain and upkeep the inspection documentation for the manufacturing department.
• Take ownership of inspection activities throughout production.
• Inspection to ISO9001 standards
