Job Description

Role- Electrical Design Engineer

Salary- £35,000 - £50,000 per annum (dependent on experience, please advise)

Type- Permanent

Location- Shrewsbury

My client work within engineering and they are looking to take on a hands on Electrical Design Engineer to develop as part of their team.

The Electrical Design Engineer role will ideally have the following attributes:

  • Apprenticeship / HNC/ HND / BTEC / City & Guilds / Degree qualification or similar in Electrical Engineering
  • Have previous experience carrying out electrical design
  • Have experience working with control panels
  • Proficiency with CAD software such as AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, EPlan or SolidWorks Electrical
  • Have a basic understanding of PLC and SCADA software ideally
  • Any network knowledge would also be ideal – Profinet, Profibus etc.
  • Excellent problem solving capabilities
  • Be able to work well individually as well as part of a team
  • Have excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Full Driving Licence

The Electrical Design Engineer role will involve:

  • Working within the existing engineering team
  • Producing detailed concept designs
  • Electrical schematics CAD design work and PLC wiring diagrams
  • Producing panel layouts
  • Be able to work with technical documentation
  • Be confident creating parts lists and BOM’s
  • Contributing to a range of products
