ROLE – Senior Structural Design Engineer
SALARY - £50,000- £60,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
TYPE - Permanent
LOCATION – Dorset
My client provides bespoke structural engineering solutions for manufacture. They are looking for a Senior Structural Design Engineer to join their team in the Dorset area on a permanent basis.
The Senior Structural Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:
- Degree / HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ qualified in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similar
- Strong experience with steel
- 5 or more years’ industry experience ideally working in a similar role within structural design
- Proficient with using structural analysis software, ideally Tekla, RWIND, Dlubal etc.
- Strong CAD skills, experienced with AutoCAD for design
- Confident knowledge of building/construction codes and structural disciplines
- Management / leadership experience would also be beneficial
- Able to manage design projects from concept to delivery
- Able to maintain technical documentation and BOM entry
- Able to work well individually as well as part of a team
The Senior Structural Design Engineer role will involve:
- Being responsible for the design and development of various products and structures
- Leading a team of Junior Structural Engineers
- Using CAD and structural analysis software on a day-to-day basis
- Developing ideas from concept to production
- Creating models/prototypes
- Liaising with clients and developing solutions
- Collaborating with different departments to ensure the smooth delivery of projects
- Maintaining technical drawings and documentation
- Providing technical guidance and support
