Audit Senior

Due to the continued growth of our firm, we have an exciting opportunity for an accountant with at least two years external audit experience to join our thriving audit team in our dynamic, forward thinking accountancy practice based at Thorpe Park, Leeds.

This role is as an Audit Senior leading “on-site” audit fieldwork at clients’ premises, liaising with clients’ senior management and managing the audit team onsite. You will report to one of our Audit Managers or direct to a Partner, taking responsibility for the completion of audit files and the drafting of audited financial statements.

Requirements:

• Qualified ACA or ACCA (or exam finalist) with at least two years external audit experience. Ideally this experience will predominantly be of auditing UK owner managed and family businesses who report under FRS102;
• At least twelve months experience of leading “on-site” audit assignments and reporting to audit managers and partners;
• Strong accounts experience;
• Excellent communicator who needs to be able to work as part of a growing team, dealing with clients and other team members with a variety of experience alike;
• Full UK driving licence and car; and
• Good excel skills are a must, and experience with ProAudit, IRIS and SAGE would be preferable.

Regents, a UK-based brickwork contractor, is actively seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, indicating a clear need for this role within their brickwork projects. 

Regents specializes in delivering brickwork for new builds, commercial, and refurbishment projects. 

They are hiring for a full-time on-site position in Billericay, Essex. 

The role involves cost control, preparing Bills of Quantities, managing costs, and delivering detailed cost reports, with support from a Senior Surveyor. 

Need for someone with experience in measuring, strong analytical skills, and an ability to work collaboratively. 

Responsibilities:

The role encompasses a range of tasks, including preparing Bills of Quantities, managing costs, delivering cost reports, supporting the senior surveyor, and ensuring accurate financial control on projects. 

Qualifications:

Ideal candidates will have relevant qualifications in Quantity Surveying or a related field, along with proficiency in relevant software and experience in the construction industry. 

As a Quantity Surveyor (QS), you're the financial backbone of construction projects. Your primary goal is to minimize costs and risks while maximizing value, all while ensuring top-notch quality and adherence to legal and regulatory standards.

You'll be involved from the ground up, preparing initial cost estimates and meticulously tracking variations as the project progresses to report on profitability. Whether you're working for the client or the contractor, in the office or on-site, you'll touch every stage of commercial, industrial, and residential builds.

Key Responsibilities:

• Help define client needs and conduct feasibility studies.
• Prepare and analyse project costings (materials, labour, time) for tenders.
• Draft tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities.
• Negotiate contracts and work schedules.
• Allocate and oversee subcontractor work.
• Manage risk, value, and cost throughout construction.
• Ensure projects stay within budget and on track financially.
• Perform cost analysis for repair and maintenance.
• Advise on procurement strategies.
• Identify and respond to commercial risks.
• Provide advice on contractual claims and disputes.
• Analyse outcomes and write detailed progress reports.
• Value completed work, manage invoices, and arrange payments.
• Stay updated on building contracts and health and safety regulations.

With experience, you may also:

• Advise on property taxation.
• Offer post-occupancy advice, facilities management, and life cycle costing.
• Help clients find funding.
• Enable project initiation.
• Advise on building maintenance costs.
