JOB - Engineering Manager
LOCATION - Nottingham
TERM - Permanent
SALARY - £55,000 to £65,000 per annum (plus benefits)

Premier Engineering is working with a growing engineering and manufacturing company based in Nottingham that is looking to hire an Engineering Manager to lead their technical team. Experience in FMCG or working with food machinery would be highly beneficial.

The Engineering Manager will ideally have the following attributes:

• A background in mechanical or electrical engineering with strong leadership skills

• Experience in a senior engineering or management role within a manufacturing or production environment

• Knowledge of FMCG processes or food machinery is highly desirable

• Proven ability to manage a team of engineers and technicians

• Strong understanding of preventative maintenance, equipment reliability, and lean manufacturing

• Excellent organisational and project management skills

• Confident in communicating with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders

• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities

• Relevant qualifications such as HND, HNC, BEng or equivalent in an engineering discipline

The Engineering Manager role will involve:

• Leading and managing the engineering team to ensure smooth operation of all machinery and systems

• Developing and implementing maintenance strategies and continuous improvement initiatives

• Overseeing engineering projects and ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget

• Ensuring compliance with health & safety and industry regulations

• Supporting the development of junior engineers and fostering a culture of technical excellence

• Working closely with other departments including production, operations, and quality

• Managing budgets, resources, and supplier relationships

ROLE – Mechanical Design Engineer

 

LOCATION - Worcester

 

TERM- Permanent

 

SALARY- £30,000 - £40,000 per annum, dependent on experience

 

My client is a manufacturer of specialist products for a variety of sectors, and they are looking to take on a Mechanical Design Engineer on a permanent basis in the Worcester area.

 

The Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:

• Degree / HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar
• Previous experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment
• Experience with Sheet Metal/Metalwork is necessary for this role
• Be proficient using 3D CAD software such as Creo, Inventor, SolidWorks, etc.
• Good theoretical mechanical engineering knowledge of core principles and tight tolerances
• Have the ability to work well alone as well as part of a small multi-disciplinary team
• Have the ability to carry out mechanical calculations
• Any previous experience of working with process machinery or steel / metal materials would be desirable
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
• Proficient using MS Office
• Excellent organisational skills and time management skills

 

The Mechanical Design Engineer role will involve:

• Working within the current engineering team with other Design Engineers
• Producing 3D designs using 3D CAD software and 2D designs with AutoCAD
• Liaising with manufacturing providers
• Being involved in final assembly of products
• Creating the required documentation for design as well as project reports / plans
• Updating 3D models and drawings
• Inputting parts into the MRP system creating BOMs
• Checking drawings for sign off
• Working in a small multi-disciplinary team on varied projects

Salary - £50,000 - £60,000 per annum

A leading manufacturer of precision-engineered components and control systems is seeking an experienced and driven Quality Manager to lead their quality department. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of product and process quality, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and driving continuous improvement initiatives across the site.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and customer-specific requirements.
• Drive a culture of quality and continuous improvement across all functions.
• Manage internal and external audits, ensuring readiness for third-party assessments.
• Oversee customer complaint investigations and implement corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
• Monitor quality KPIs and report performance to senior management.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to resolve quality issues and implement robust processes.
• Lead root cause analysis activities using tools such as 8D, 5 Whys, and FMEA.

 Required Experience & Skills:

• Experience in managing audits and leading cross-functional quality investigations.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to engage and influence at all levels of the business.
• Familiarity with working in a regulated, customer-focused environment.

 Desirable:

• Experience with precision components, control systems, or electromechanical assemblies.
• Knowledge of additional standards such as ISO 14001 or ISO 45001 is an advantage.
• Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing training/certification.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Material Controller to join a well-established engineering and manufacturing business in Worthing. This role is critical in ensuring the efficient flow of materials, maintaining stock accuracy, and supporting production schedules. The ideal candidate will have experience in material planning, inventory control, and supplier coordination within a manufacturing or engineering environment.

 Key Responsibilities

• Material Planning & Scheduling – Ensure materials are available for production in line with demand and schedules.
• Inventory Management – Monitor stock levels, conduct cycle counts, and maintain accurate records.
• Supplier Coordination – Work closely with suppliers to track deliveries, manage lead times, and resolve any supply chain issues.
