ROLE – Mechanical Design Engineer

 

SALARY - £40,000-£50,000, dependent on experience

 

TYPE – Permanent

 

LOCATION – Taunton

 

My client designs and manufactures bespoke machinery. They are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in the Taunton area on a permanent basis.

 

The Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:

• At least 2 years of experience in a similar Mechanical Design Engineering position
• Experienced with machinery design, hydraulics, sheet metal and precision components
• Strong 3D CAD skills – ideally Inventor or SolidWorks
• Knowledge of rotating equipment, SPM, valves, pumps, actuators, pneumatics, gauges, piping etc. would be beneficial
• Strong practical skills – hand calculations, verification, validation, FEA, testing, prototyping
• Degree / HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ / ONC qualified or similar in Mechanical Engineering or similar
• Experienced designing products from concept to production
• Able to manage projects and work to deadlines and budgets
• Able to maintain technical documentation and BOM entry
• Innovative, accurate and passionate about design
• Be technically minded with a head for problem solving
• Excellent leadership and organisational skills
• Able to work well individually as well as part of a team

 

The Mechanical Design Engineer role will involve:

• Using CAD for concept design and producing technical drawings
• Using Inventor software for design on a day-to-day basis
• Being responsible for research, hand calculations, FEA, testing and prototyping
• Managing the full product lifecycle from concept to production
• Creating models/prototypes
• Liaising with clients and developing solutions for design specifications
• Collaborating with different departments to ensure the smooth delivery of projects
• Maintaining technical drawings and documentation
• Providing technical guidance and support
• Supporting product Testing, Verification & Validation
• Supporting more junior members of the team

Role- Electrical Fitter

Salary- £30,000- £35,000 per annum (dependent on experience, please advise)

Location- Near East Kilbride

My client works within manufacturing and they are looking to take on an Electrical Fitter or a Test Technician to develop as part of their team.

The Electrical Fitter / Test Technician role will ideally have the following attributes:

• Apprenticeship NVQ / HNC/ HND / BTEC / City & Guilds qualification or similar in Electrical Engineering
• Have previous experience in an electrical hands-on role ideally
• Any exposure to panel wiring, working with control panels, fitting would be ideal
• Any offshore / onshore products experience would be desirable
• Be keen to learn and develop a range of skills
• Be able to work well individually as well as part of a team
• Have excellent communication skills both verbal and written

The Electrical Fitter / Test Technician role will involve:

• Working within the existing engineering electrical team
• Electrical wiring and fitting
• Working with control panels
• Ensuring work his completed to a high standard

Role – Business Development Manager (Engineering)

Location – Merseyside

Type – Permanent (Hybrid working set-up)

Salary – Circa £55,000- £65,000 per annum plus Commission

My client works within the manufacture of equipment, and they are looking to take on a Business Development Manager, on a permanent basis.

The Business Development Manager will ideally have the following attributes:

• Previous Business Development Management experience in a similar type of technical engineering environment (preferably with capital equipment)
• Degree qualified in Engineering, Business or a similar subject ideally
• Exposure to the Process, Special Purpose Machinery or Pharmaceutical sectors would be beneficial
• Be very familiar with the whole BD process
• Be confident pitching engineering solutions and the service to third parties
• Excellent presentation skills
• Have a good appreciation of mechanical and electrical engineering and system integration
• Be computer literate; proficient with using Microsoft Office and CRM software
• Have excellent communication skills both verbal and written
• Have strong customer relationship building skills
• Have a great commercial awareness and negotiation skills
• Be able to organise your own workload

The Business Development Manager role will involve:

• Driving business and sales growth for a reputable company
• Looking to expand the market presence
• Identifying new business opportunities
• Working closely with customers and managing those relationships
• Liaising with the technical engineering team working on converting enquiries and quotes into orders
• Taking charge of the sales cycle from lead generation through to the completion of orders
• Working with CRM records maintaining accurate sales records
• Attending customer sites and events in the industry to promote the company
• Be involved in maintaining and also improving all client relationships
• Market and Strategy Development monitoring market trends
• Reporting to the Head of Business Development

Role- Control Systems Engineer

Salary- £35,000- £50,000 per annum (Dependent on experience, please advise what you’re looking for)

Type- Permanent

Location- Reading

The Control Systems Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:

• Be Degree/ HND/ HNC/ NVQ qualified in Electrical Engineering or similar
• 2 years or more of industry experience working in a similar Electrical Controls role ideally 
• Be confident carrying out the programming of control systems from scratch – i.e Siemens TIA, Beckhoff TwinCAT
• Have excellent hands on electrical engineering skills
• Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office programmes
• Excellent communication skills
• Flexible to travel as needed as part of the role
• Full Driving Licence

The Control Systems Engineer role will involve:

• Programming PLC’s from scratch
• Being involved in full project lifecycle
• Taking solutions from concept right through to commissioning
• Delivering projects on time and within budget
• Ensuring company standards are always adhered to
• Travelling to customer sites as required for commissioning activities
• Creating the required documentation
• Providing remote technical support
