Mechanical Design Engineer — Offshore & Renewable Energy — North West England
Are you a Mechanical Design Engineer looking to work at the forefront of the global energy transition? This is a rare opportunity to join a fast-growing specialist engineering business supplying critical mechanical solutions to the offshore wind, floating wind, and oil and gas sectors worldwide.
As a Mechanical Design Engineer you'll be involved at every stage — from early concept and R&D through to prototype build, testing, and design validation. No two days are the same.
What you'll be doing:
- 3D modelling and manufacturing drawings in Autodesk Inventor
- Design calculations using MathCAD Prime and engineering first principles
- FEA, stress analysis, fatigue assessments, and design validation
- Concept generation and R&D support for new mechanical products
- Prototype builds, workshop trials, and test data analysis
- Interfacing with engineering, commercial, and operations teams
What we're looking for:
- Minimum HND in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
- 4+ years' experience in a relevant Mechanical Design Engineer role
- Strong CAD skills — Autodesk Inventor preferred
- FEA experience and ability to produce independent engineering calculations
- Right to work in the UK
The package:
- Alternate Fridays or every Friday afternoon off
- Up to £45,000
- 8% company pension contribution
- 5 weeks holiday plus bank holidays
