A long-standing client of ours has a brand new position for a Chief Financial Officer to join their Finance team. They are an SME in the Engineering industry and are going through very exciting growth, looking for someone to offer support and guide them.

 

You must have good overall technical knowledge within an Engineering company specialising in products, to guide the company commercially.

 

Position Overview:

They are seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with a strong strategic background to lead their financial operations and support their long-term growth objectives. As the CFO, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial direction of the company, driving profitability, and ensuring financial sustainability. You will work closely with the executive team to develop and execute strategies that align with our business goals and market opportunities.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Financial Leadership:

  • Collaborate with the CEO and executive team to develop and implement the company's strategic vision and long-term business plans.
  • Provide financial insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making, including evaluating new business opportunities, mergers and acquisitions, and market expansion.
  • Lead financial planning and forecasting processes, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic objectives.

Financial Management:

  • Oversee all aspects of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, financial reporting, and analysis.
  • Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Manage relationships with banks, investors, and other financial institutions to secure funding and optimize capital structure.

Risk Management and Compliance:

  • Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks to protect the company’s assets and ensure business continuity.
  • Ensure compliance with all financial and tax regulations, including timely and accurate filing of all financial statements.
  • Lead internal and external audits, ensuring transparency and accountability in all financial matters.

Operational Efficiency:

  • Drive continuous improvement in financial processes and systems to enhance operational efficiency and accuracy.
  • Oversee the implementation of financial software and technology solutions to streamline financial operations.
  • Work closely with department heads to optimize resource allocation and cost management across the organization.

Team Leadership:

  • Provide guidance and support to the finance team on complex financial issues, ensuring professional growth and development.
  • Promote cross-functional collaboration to ensure alignment of financial goals with overall business objectives.

 

Qualifications:

  • Fully qualified ideally / Part qualified / Qualified by experience
  • Minimum of 10 years of financial management experience
  • Must have technical knowledge within an Engineering company
  • Proven track record of developing and executing financial strategies that drive business growth and profitability within an SME enviroment
  • Strong proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and financial analysis. Experience with ERP systems and implementations desirable
