Job Title: Project Manager

Based at: Head Office, Trafford Park, Manchester/Home/Site

Reports to: Contracts Director

Qualifications: Graduate Engineer, HND/HNC or equivalent

Experience: Minimum 5 years in an industrial engineering and/or contracting environment.

Experience of cleanrooms, laboratories, healthcare environments.

Experience with design and/or installation of specialist HVAC installations.

AutoCAD/Revit MEP would also be an advantage but not essential.

An understanding and working knowledge of major forms of contract such as JCT

Job Summary: To effectively manage and deliver projects to our Clients in accordance with health

& safety, time, cost and quality objectives

Key Responsibilities and accountabilities:

1. To ensure that detailed engineering designs are available on time to allow enquiry,

price negotiation, order placement and installation/delivery to meet programme

2. To manage the project cost plan, ensuring that this is populated with topical

information, forward spend is accurately identified and is fully up to date and

available to the senior management team

3. To, wherever possible, improve project margins by negotiated procurement with the

supply chain or use of approved alternative suppliers

4. To prepare and maintain the project programme, keeping it fully updated and

ensuring works are progressing in line with the latest programme developments

5. Preparation of Construction Phase Health & Safety Plan where applicable, ensuring

that all involved with the project are aware of the requirements and work to the

Plan

6. Ensuring that all Risk Assessment and Method Statements are job specific, relevant

and in place for all site activities

7. Ensuring that valuations are submitted on time in accordance with the agreed terms

of contract and internal cash flow forecasts

8. To ensure that variations to supply are promptly identified, notified to the Client and

the associated cost and time implications are agreed in a timely manner

9. Ensure timely agreement of final accounts with our Client, suppliers and sub-

contractors

10. To co-ordinate any work activities and to ensure all resources are available to meet

the project objectives

11. Provide monthly reports to the management team detailing progress, profitability,

and any issues which may affect the project

12. Provide project progress reports as required to the Client

13. Liaising with and managing sub-contractors, suppliers and directly employed site

operatives to ensure project objectives are being achieved

14. To maintain document control to ensure project works are always being undertaken

to the latest information

15. Co-ordinate the compilation and submission of O&M and as built documentation

5. From time to time, at the discretion of the management, you may be required to

undertake work tasks outside the scope of your job description

6. From time to time, at the discretion of the management you may be required to

work away from the office on site and/or work additional hours to ensure a specific

project or task is completed
