I’m currently supporting an advanced engineering team in Bristol who are looking to engage an experienced RF Engineer on an initial 3–5 month contract.
This role sits within a high-precision sensing environment, focused on laser stabilisation and phase-sensitive control systems, where RF techniques are used to extract and maintain extremely stable optical signals.
The work combines RF signal processing, analogue control loops, and precision measurement techniques, contributing to real-time stabilisation of laser-based systems.
Key experience required:
• Strong RF / analogue design background
• Experience with modulation and demodulation techniques
• Knowledge of mixers, filters, oscillators, and RF signal conditioning
• Experience with phase-sensitive detection and feedback control systems
• Understanding of low-noise design in RF or mixed-signal environments
Highly beneficial:
• Exposure to optical systems, photonics, or laser stabilisation
• Experience with frequency/phase locking techniques (e.g. PLL-like systems or PDH-style architectures)
• Background in scientific instrumentation or high-precision measurement systems

FPGA / Digital Systems Engineer (Contract)
We are working with an engineering team seeking an FPGA / Digital Systems Engineer for a 3–5 month outside IR35 contract, based in Bristol (hybrid).
This is a hands-on role building real-time digital systems that directly interface with MEMS and photonic hardware. The FPGA is a core part of the sensing system, directly impacting stability, noise performance, and overall system behaviour.
What you’ll do
- Design and implement FPGA systems for high-speed sensing and control (MEMS, photonics, ADC/DACs)
- Build and stabilise real-time control loops (PLLs, AGC, feedback systems, demodulation)
- Translate control theory and signal processing into robust RTL (Verilog/SystemVerilog)
- Manage timing, latency, jitter, noise, and numerical stability
- Develop Python-based verification and automation tooling
- Own verification using structured testbenches, assertions, and automated testing
- Support lab bring-up and hardware debugging
What we’re looking for
- Strong FPGA experience on real hardware
- Background in control theory or signal processing
- Experience with feedback systems (e.g. PLLs, control loops)
- Comfortable working across digital, analog, and physical domains
- Strong verification discipline (not just waveform debugging)

We are recruiting on behalf of a leading precision metal pressings manufacturer based in Worcestershire. Supplying high-quality pressed and stamped metal components to a range of industries, our client is seeking an experienced Production Area Supervisor to lead a busy press shop team and support continued business growth.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on production professional with supervisory experience within metal pressing, stamping, engineering, or manufacturing environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing daily production activities, ensuring safety, quality, and output targets are consistently achieved while developing and supporting a team of operators and setters.
The Role
As Production Area Supervisor, you will take ownership of a designated production area, coordinating people, machinery, tooling, and resources to ensure smooth and efficient operations. You will work closely with Production, Quality, Tooling, Engineering, and Planning teams to maintain production schedules and continuously improve performance.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership
- Lead, motivate and support production operators and setters within the press shop.
- Organise workloads and allocate resources to meet production demands.
- Conduct daily production briefings and communicate priorities effectively.
- Monitor attendance, performance and training requirements.
- Mentor team members and support skills development across the department.
- Foster a positive, accountable and safety-focused working culture.
Production & Operational Performance
- Ensure production schedules are delivered safely, efficiently and on time.
- Coordinate tooling changes, machine setups and production changeovers.
- Monitor key performance indicators including output, downtime, efficiency and scrap levels.
- Investigate production issues and implement corrective actions to minimise disruption.
- Work collaboratively with maintenance and tooling departments to maximise machine availability.
- Support the achievement of productivity and operational improvement targets.
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure components are manufactured to customer specifications and quality standards.
- Support first-off inspections and in-process quality checks.
- Work with the Quality team to identify root causes of defects and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain compliance with company procedures, customer requirements and industry standards.
- Promote a right-first-time manufacturing culture.
Health & Safety
- Lead by example in maintaining a safe working environment.
- Ensure machinery is operated in accordance with safety procedures and company policies.
- Conduct routine safety checks and encourage reporting of hazards and near misses.
- Support accident investigations and implementation of preventative measures.
- Promote excellent housekeeping standards throughout the production area.
Continuous Improvement
- Drive improvements in efficiency, quality and productivity.

Candidate Requirements
Essential
- Previous experience in a Production Supervisor, Manufacturing Supervisor or Team Leader role.
- Background within metal pressing, metal stamping, precision engineering or a similar manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of production processes, tooling changeovers and manufacturing operations.
- Experience managing and developing production teams.
- Ability to monitor and improve operational performance.
- Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Good IT skills and experience using production management systems.
Desirable
- Experience working within a press shop environment.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing methodologies.
- Mechanical or engineering qualifications.
- Experience working within quality-accredited manufacturing environments.
- IOSH or equivalent health and safety qualification.

Location – Sussex
Salary - £35,000 DOE
A well-established and growing UK-based technology manufacturer delivering specialist communication and alarm systems to healthcare, custodial and commercial environments across domestic and international markets.
Due to continued expansion, we are seeking an experienced Technical Support Engineer to join our team. Reporting directly to senior management, you will play a key role in delivering technical support services both internally and externally.
The ideal candidate will have an electronics or systems background, along with a solid understanding of IP infrastructure and network-based systems.
Responsibilities:
- Providing technical product support to customers and internal teams via telephone, email and online platforms
- Occasional customer site visits to provide assistance and support
- Delivering technical training and preparing customer training materials
- Supporting the sales team to maintain high standards of customer service
- Testing and configuring products
- Assisting with small-batch production activities including testing, configuration and some assembly work
Skills and experience:
- Qualification level HNC in Electronics or similar discipline
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Experience with Ethernet networking and TCP/IP configuration
- Familiarity with device configuration software and USB interfaces
- Experience using oscilloscopes and digital multimeters
- Knowledge of SIP telephony systems would be advantageous
- Able to work proactively with minimal supervision and use own initiative
Desirable Skills:
- Ability to diagnose and repair circuit boards to component level
- Soldering and rework experience
